Creating a Performance Culture
"There is no substitute for
knowledge." W Edwards DemingWIT Systems specialise in developing "Performance Culture" in companies and organizations and providing the systems to support continuous improvement
"Performance Culture" is; 1. Leadership 2. Change Management 3. Tools 4. Data 5. Empowerment, delivered through training and consultancy. The training covers Analysis Tools (Six Sigma Belt structure), Lean Fundamentals (Value Stream, 5S etc.), Change Management (resistance to change etc.), Team Dynamics and Leadership.
WIT Systems provide consultancy covering Supply Chain Management, Continuous Improvement Program Management, Lean Six Sigma (Deployment, Structure and Strategy), Project Selection/Scoping/Management, Support and Mentoring, Reduction of Purchasing Spend, Data review, analysis, presentation, Organisational Design
WIT Systems also provide consultancy into IT database systems, particularly to develop systems for gathering data and changing that data into information. - The methodology is driven by continually addressing the key areas through systematic data capture and improvement projects. An integral part of all of our consultancy and training is the knowledge that data collection and analysis should not be an onerous task, provided the practitioners are able to define the data collection systems.
We find that all organisations that we have worked with are rarely collecting too little data but are always collecting the wrong data, too much inconsequent data and are not able to analyse the data effectively

Project Management
WIT System adopts formal project management techniques for ALL projects undertaken. The scope of the project management depends on the scope of the project, but all include pre-agreement targets and timescales and then reporting against the agreed targets.
Each project will have a controlling Gantt chart with pre agreed milestones. All projects commence with a detailed FMEA (Failure Mode and Affects Analysis) which is a detailed risk analysis tool and highlights any potential pitfalls in the scope of the project. Each of the key risks is mitigated with actions and targets against the key items. All projects have a central area available on the WIT Systems web site, which the customers have access to for project documentation, collaborative documents etc. All development work is undertaken according to timescales. These are automatically entered on the WIT systems Data Management systems and are automatically uploaded to the web site for reference by the customer.
Ongoing Projects
Recent success for WIT Systems (since Jan 07) includes defence logistics, complex manufacturing, service organisations, MOD and Royal Navy.
In detail; Defence Logistics this organisation has seen a turn
around in performance and are now exceeding customers expectations across the
company. The Performance Culture has been created where, for example, shop floor managers
are introducing improvements which are providing percentage improvements to the bottom
line.
We have been chosen as partners with the Royal Navy, FSL and the MOD to work with
their Transformation Teams to deliver multi million pound savings. We provide performance
culture development and one to one coaching.
We have rationalised the supply chain of a manufacturing plant in Sweden providing
a saving of > £1m. Here we applied some of Goldratts techniques around
Theory of Constraints This has shown success in NHS Trusts in the UK and is
used extensively within Supply Chain transformations
For another global company (£650m turnover), one of our consultants is running
their continuous improvement program tasked with saving £30m in one year
Public Sector Requirements
WIT Systems have a great deal of experience with government bodies, defence, armed forces, central and devolved government and higher education establishments. Before the commencement of any projects with governmental agencies WIT Systems project manager has a detailed discussion with the customer's representative to ensure that WIT systems are aware and compliant with the requirements for that organization.
The project administrator, project manager and ultimately the senior management of the WIT Systems are then tasked to ensure that all legal and business requirements are met. This meeting takes place with new customers and established customers to ensure that WIT Systems are always aware of the latest requirements and no compliance areas are left uncovered.
